Meet Jay! Originally from Georgia, Jay has had the opportunity to study with trainers and work with many breeds for many purposes across the country! Jay has more than a decade of experience in the professional canine industry including socialization, veterinary assistance, and training. He uses this knowledge to not only help develop a healthy, happy, and well-behaved companion but also provide his clients with the knowledge to continue this journey on their own.
As a member of the APDT our trainer relies solely on positive reinforcement and the natural curiosities of his dogs to develop skills. LIMA encourages trainers to use techniques that are effective but also compassionate. This means focusing on positive reinforcement and minimalizing stress for the dog. This process allows our trainer to promote understanding and communication, fostering a stronger bond for you and your pup!
Every dog is unique, which is why Somedog offers individualized training plans that are tailored to meet the specific needs of each dog and their owner. Our trainer works closely with you to develop a training plan that works for you and your dog. We offer 3 different session-based package options, as well as an hourly rate if needed for some pick-ups!
Somedog Training offers Group Classes as well! We offer Basic Obedience and an Intermediate Obedience class. These are tailored to provide our pet owners with the tools they need to teach the basics on their own. Our curriculum focuses on what we call the "Big 6" and Hand Targeting. Sit, Down, Stay, Recall, Loose Leash Walking, and Leave It will all be covered during a 1 hour long session once a week. Group class sizes may vary so reach out if interested to lock in your spot!
